The 2026 Newport Jazz Festival

The Sixth Newport Festival runs over Saturday 2nd May 2026 and  Sunday 3rd May 2026. We are looking forward to seeing old friends, making some new ones, and hearing some great bands over the two days.

 

Headline Bands.  This year, we have asked back Bob Sedergreen, a favourite with everyone,  back with his band on Saturday, and the incomparable Sarah Maclaine who will wrap up the Festival on Sunday evening. The rest of us (bands ranging from funky little duos to full ahead big bands), will be playing more  trad, swing tunes, bebop, contemporary, and big band numbers than you can listen to in a weekend - so you will have to choose your favourites, but we hope you will take time to discover new talent: there is plenty out there! We are presenting over 40 Bands in addition to the ever popular headline acts, we will be featuring  locals from the Western suburbs, bands from the Melbourne Jazz Jammers sessions, artistes from interstate and the pick of the performers from Jazz Festivals across Victoria.
