An outstanding Jam Session (Sunday October 13th)
I didn't hear a single bum note all arvo, the sound system ran perfectly, the weather was fine, all was well with the world. I am fairly certain that all the guitarists insisted on turning their volume down, all the saxophonists played chords, no one played Little Sunflower, well at least if they did, they finished in less than sixteen choruses, all the singers sang in tune and no-one dropped a bar, not that you would notice. The drummers, some of them sporting spectacular bruises, didn't keep the beat, they shared it all round, the pianists got up and positively insisted someone else have a turn after three tunes or ten minutes, whichever came first, several of the bass players might have smiled, and a good time was had by all. Oh, and the Good Captain sent me a list of who was there because I wasn't.
Alright, I made up that last bit about sending the list. And the bit about the bass players cannot possibly be true. And the bit about the singers being in tune depends on which tune they were singing. Other than that, apparently, it was a pretty good arvo...
This week, who knows?
